Our team, assembled by our esteemed professor for the CMSC495 capstone course at the University of Maryland Global Campus, comprises exceptional individuals from diverse backgrounds in computer science and other programming-related majors. With unwavering dedication and a passion for programming, we embarked on an extraordinary journey to develop an innovative game using Java and the libGDX framework seamlessly integrated with ChatGPT API and MongoDB.

TriviaGPT is a captivating and intellectually stimulating game that pushes the boundaries of interactive entertainment. TriviaGPT’s API integration with Mongo DB supplying trivia questions sets it apart, allowing it to be played on any browser or popular operating system, whether Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS (We are limiting our initial release to play on desktops). The game has been thoughtfully designed to challenge players’ knowledge across various subjects, all powered by the cutting-edge capabilities of ChatGPT. Through this integration, we dynamically generate intriguing questions and answers that keep players engaged and returning for more.
Behind the Scenes
Our team is divided into four smaller teams – Game, Database, Security, and Web – each working synergistically to ensure the success of the Group 3 Project. The Game team has crafted a captivating and user-friendly gaming experience. In contrast, the Database team has harnessed the power of MongoDB, using APIs to efficiently store and retrieve questions, answers, and score leaderboards. The Security team diligently safeguards the integrity of our system, ensuring players’ data and experiences are protected. In contrast, the Web team has designed a simple, user-friendly website with intuitive information for the team, project, and game.
